When Bill Browder’s young Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was beaten to death in a Moscow jail, Browder made it his life’s mission to go after his killers. The first step was to uncover who was behind the $230 million tax refund scheme that Magnitsky was killed over. As Browder and his team tracked the money, they were shocked to discover that Vladimir Putin himself was a beneficiary of the crime. As law enforcement agencies began freezing the money, Putin retaliated, and Putin will stop at nothing to protect his money.

Everyone is welcome to drop in to any of the discussions; register online to receive handouts, reminders, etc. Copies of the next book will be available from the Capilano Library in Edgemont Village or reach out to Kelly at [email protected] to arrange pickup at an alternate branch on or after the date of the current meeting. All books are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Copies are also available in other formats, such as print, ebook, audiobooks, and more. Ask staff to help you find a copy!
