Come join us at Capilano Library for a screening of Dirt Relations, a documentary about mountain biking in the area, and a Q+A with the producers.
Dirt Relations tells the story of three men: Patrick Lucas, an 8th generation Canadian from Thomas Schoen, a first generation Canadian, and Tom Eustache, a Secwepemc man and member of the Simpcw First Nation and how they formed an unlikely friendship to create the IYMBP.
The British Columbia based Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program (IYMBP) has partnered with Indigenous Filmmakers and backcountry mentors and leaders from the Lil’wat Youth Mountain Bike Program and Indigenous Women Outdoors to bring raise awareness and foster dialogue on reconciliation and decolonization in adventures sports.
Partnering with the Squamish and North Vancouver Public Libraries, the IYMBP, LYMBP and IWO, will co-host a series of screenings of several films including: Dirt Relations – the story of the Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program and Kelkeláokik Sandy Ward’s short film about Lil’wat youth riders who won first place in the Crankworx Dirt Diaries.
