Event Description

Tanya Lloyd Kyi is the author of more than 35 picture books, information books, and novels for children and young adults. Her newest release is The City of Lost Cats, a novel about a girl and a clowder of cats who must build a community in order to save a historic mansion. Tanya lives in Vancouver, B.C., where she’s a lecturer for the UBC School of Creative Writing.

In this one-hour workshop students will learn tips on writing stories with pace and tension and how to create the perfect villain. They should bring their favourite pens and their creativity! Perfect for grade 4, 5 and 6 students who love to write!

This event takes place on Zoom and in person. Limited space to attend in-person is available.

If you’d like to attend, teachers are asked to please email Rachel Brown with your preference to attend either in person or via Zoom: [email protected]. Names of classes will be entered into a draw to attend in person (maximum of 3 classes). A Zoom link will be sent to everyone who registers.
